“Wait a minute. Are you jealous?” Drabble

“Hey Emma. Wait up!”

Emma turned around to see Elisha jogging towards her. She rolled her eyes.

 He’s so predictable.

“Did you get your test scores back?”

“I sure did.”

“Me too. I got a 98.”

“Good for you.”

He’s going to be so mad! You should tell him.

“Come on, Emma. What did you get?”

“100.”

“Seriously? Again?”

“Wait a minute. Are you jealous?” She grinned. She knew he was.

“Whatever.” He smiled. “We still have two more exams.”

She watched him walk away. “That we do.”

Elisha was too competitive.

Cute butt though.

“Yes, indeed.”

“Do you…well…I mean…I could give you a massage?” Drabble

“Why are we here?” Spas were so not his thing.

“We’re on vacation. Besides, it was mom’s day to pick.” Lucas slapped him on the back before walking away.

Grumbling, Benji walked over to the massage tables. Was he just supposed to lie down and wait?

“Hey.”

He turned around to find a girl smiling at him. “Finally. I’ve been waiting.”

“Oh. Do you… well… I mean… I could give you a massage?”

Rolling his eyes, he grunted and lay down without responding.

“Just so you know,” she said as she poured oil on his back, “I don’t work here.”

“Please, don’t leave.” Drabble

Kaitlynn’s hands were shaking as she dialed his number.

“Kate?”

“Hey. Are you – can you talk?”

“It’s two in the morning, Kate. What’s wrong?”

“I just needed to talk to someone. But you’re right. I shouldn’t have – “

“Don’t be silly. What’s up?”

“Can you come outside? I’m outside.”

“Of my house?”

“…yeah.”

He sighed. “Gimme a few minutes. Let me put on some clothes.”

Ten minutes later, Lance opened his front door and found her sitting on the porch steps.

“This was so stupid. I’m going to go.”

“Please, don’t leave.” He sat down beside her. “Talk to me.”

“Have You Lost Your Damn Mind!?” Drabble

“Have you lost your damn mind!?” Sarah slammed the car door as she stepped out. The dent was bigger than she’d feared.

“Listen lady, you crashed into me.”

“Why would you stop in the middle of the road? Only an idiot would do something like that!”

“Fair enough. How about I buy you a coffee and we can swap insurance info?”

“Are you – trying to pick me up?”

“When opportunity knocks, right?” He smiled. “What’s your name, sweetheart?”

“Unbelievable.”

“Believe it. I’m Hans.” He smiled again.

She looked at his outstretched hand and gingerly placed her own in it. “Sarah.”

“Come Over Here and Make Me” Drabble

AJ took the porch steps two at a time and knocked on the front door. When no one responded, he walked round back to check the barn.

“Come over here and make me!” A pretty blonde pointed the running hose at Sarah.

“You are so dead, Toni!” His twin shrieked.

He stopped short and watched as they chased each other. Toni wasn’t paying attention and barreled straight into him.

“Whoa there,” he said, catching her before she could stumble and fall.

“So sorry!” She laughed, looking behind her.

“Don’t let her get away, AJ!”

“Oh, don’t worry. I won’t.”

And still I rise.

On the Go: I See Fire by Ed Sheeran

If you didn’t know, Ed Sheeran is probably one of the most underrated artists out there. He is so talented that my soul weeps for the lack of attention his music receives.

This song is from the soundtrack of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (I always want to pronounce that as Smee). I paid $5 to Amazon to rent the movie because Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman were in it together – my favorite British Bros (Sorry Professor X and Magneto)!

While listening to the music at the end, I heard the sweet, sweet voice of Ed singing and I about fell off my couch. I have a soft spot for epic movie soundtracks (for example, Breath of Life by Florence & the Machine from Snow White and the Hunstman and Young and Beautiful by Lana Del Rey from The Great Gatsby).

Listen and tell me this isn’t as epic as epic gets!

I wonder if I could create an Epic Songs station on Pandora?

One a Day: Song

Sunshine

I will never hold you
Never count your perfect toes
Smooth down your sweet tresses
Or kiss your wrinkled nose

I won’t call you baby
Won’t kiss away your pain
I will never hold you
Watch you fall asleep again

You were my sunshine
I miss you like sunshine
I called you my sunshine
I love you little sunshine

I won’t watch you grow
Or worry about your safety
I’ve lost all my hope
Of calling you my baby

My sweet perfect gift
For your happiness I pray
One last gentle kiss
Before they take you away

You were my sunshine
I miss you like sunshine
I called you my sunshine
I love you little sunshine

One a Day: Rispetto

We used to tend roses

lovingly with our hands

Now instead he closes

wounds of his fellow man

How quick our time ended

This life – held suspended

in the grip of dreamers

and the hearts of grievers
