My New Obsession

So it’s been a while since I’ve written on here. I just want to say that I’ve had a new obsession that I am currently working through…

I’ve discovered my kitchen! And it has things I can use to make food with and I am fascinated by it. My Instagram is chock full of pictures of my cooking experiments. It’s kind of beautiful really, seeing something you made get shoved down someone’s mouth…(lovely image, no?)

Anyway, you’ll have to bear with me as I follow this through to the end. Although, I may just have to add a Food section to this blog!

In the meantime, if you’re on instagram, follow me to see all my beautiful foodie creations!

As I walk along the cold forgotten path
I feel as though a shadow walks besides me
And though I feel no menace, hatred, or wrath

I wonder why I cannot, this shadow, see
But to stop along the path and delve deep
Into the gloom is a choice not meant to be

Along this cold forgotten path I must keep
I cannot stop for food or drink, I cannot
Stop for rest and never shall I stop to sleep

I must hurry, be swift or else be forgot
Time waits for some, but for me, surely will not

Reach
Back in
Time that’s been
Erased from all
Memory. And not since
You were a child, fragile and small
Did anyone think to hold you tight or call
You honey. Those days of warm breezes at the beach
People watching in air-conditioned malls
Are gone. Now it’s back to cramped halls
Mind games you cannot win
Crying in stalls
Gone from all
Not in
Reach

(This was yesterday’s, fell asleep before I could post.)

Eternity
That’s how long we said it would last
Eternity
A fluke that became Destiny
A chance encounter with the past
A plea answered and fate’s die cast
Eternity

Heat shone down as I lay
Lay back again cool forgiving arms
Arms that are liquid, fluid, endless

Like a soft sigh after he says, “I love you.
You, with your gentle dips and curves.”
Curves like the ocean stretching over the horizon

Beyond where I can even dream of reaching
Reaching out to meet my outstretched fingers
Fingers that create patterns upon the ocean’s surface

I sway in arms that are as long as time is old
Old as half-remembered dreams of other hands
Hands and wrist and arms, loving, calm, tranquil

Sun-kissed by the sun, cooled by the waves
Waves that hold me tenderly,
Tenderly, quietly, soothingly
